Go to a Virtual Meeting
Don’t you just love going to a meeting in your lawyer’s office to chat with them about your legal needs? We are, after all, very nice people! Well, maybe you don’t love to visit us, nice or not. You’ve got other friends to chat with. Of course, you can always just pick up the phone and call. But that just isn’t the same as sitting across the table from someone. If only there was something in between.
Well, now there is.
Our firm is utilizing computer technology to arrange a virtual meeting with our clients. All you need is a computer with a camera. You can see us, and we can see you. It is as simple as clicking on a link in your email inbox and away you go.
Virtual meetings allow our clients who are located in another city, or who might have difficulty getting to our office, to actually see who they are talking to, and to be seen as well. This technology allows us to complete estate planning for some who otherwise wouldn’t be able to have our help unless they paid us to come to them.
After all, we can’t do estate planning for someone we’ve never met, just because someone called and claimed to be someone. In order for us to properly prepare estate plans, it is important for us to verify not only identity, but also competency to execute planning documents. For married couples, this means making sure that both spouses are participating and in agreement. In some cases, we can even attend signing meetings remotely, although that is not preferable.
Our clients can also discuss small amendments and updates to their planning with all the convenience of a phone call, but also receive that face to face time we all crave. Sometimes, there just is no substitute for being able to look someone in the eye, even if it is over a computer screen.
If you would like to take advantage of a meeting like this, give us a call. We’ll be happy to SEE you.
